Get an exclusive preview of construction on two of Dallas' exciting and educational attractions. The George W. Bush Presidential Center has agreed to provide ASAE a rare tour prior to its 2013 opening. The Bush Center is being constructed on a prominent 24?acre site on the campus of Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas. The 226,500?square foot building will feature the George W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum and the already?active George W. Bush Institute. The building and grounds are designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification. Next travel to downtown Dallas' Victory Park for a private hard hat tour and overview presentation of the Perot Museum of Nature & Science before the new facility's doors open in early 2013. This 4.7-acre site has its sights set on creating a new, world-class venue designed by 2005 Pritzker Prize Laureate Thom Mayne of the firm Morphosis. The new $185-million museum will include five floors of public space housing 11 permanent exhibition halls, plus a state-of-the-art traveling exhibition hall, a 300-seat large format, multi-media digital cinema, an education wing with six learning labs, an outdoor observation deck, a flexible space auditorium, a children's museum including an outdoor play space and courtyard, a public café, a retail store, and so much more.
